BBC News – ‘No comment’ from MoD over SAS men captured in Libya

Our correspondent said he had heard reports of a helicopter landing and British troops possibly captured on Saturday.

 

“At that time it just seemed all a bit outlandish, frankly, because there was a British warship here in town just a few days ago, if anyone wanted to make contact with the authorities here they could have just walked down the gangplank and hailed a taxi,” he said.”But for some reason they decided to have gone a slightly more James Bond route about it.

Well then, that’s strange… The British are completely for Gaddafi’s removal, and yet it would appear the rebels have captured British SAS forces. The plot thickens…

In all likelihood, the claims are just being a bit exaggerated… “Captured” may very well mean “met up with”, with general security provisions that you might expect as a new alliance is being formed, particularly involving a relatively untrusting, non-government entity. It’s if it really IS more of a captive situation that I’ll be interested in hearing about why on earth it’s happening…
