Japan raises nuclear severity level – The Washington Post

 

 

Japan’s nuclear safety agency raised the severity rating of the country’s nuclear crisis from Level 4 to Level 5 on a 7-level international scale, putting it on par with the Three Mile Island accident in Pennsylvania in 1979. (March 18)

I have a sneaky suspicion this won’t stop at 5… 3 mile island was one plant, this is multiple on an island with 54 after a 9.0 earthquake… Stocking up on vodka, seaweed (nori), and radiation pills may not be the worst idea if you’re anywhere in the US. Or, taking the opportunity as a cue to finally go backpack around Europe would be another reasonable option.
